Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Email messages are kept as needed to prepare a response. They remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may collect routine technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure traffic and navigation patterns. Analytics vendors combine this activity into site-use reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Milford Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It provides general directions to Milford Police, Connecticut Superior Court, DESPP/SPBI, CT DOC, and the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry. Public access to agency records remains subject to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, CGS §§1-200 through 1-242, and criminal-history dissemination rules in CGS §54-142g. Visitor information is not turned into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy policies govern submitted data, retention, and disclosure. Review the applicable provider policy before running a query because those practices are outside our control.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Milford city offices, Connecticut courts and agencies, legal resources, or independent search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy terms apply. Review them before providing personal data.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for interest-based advertising.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet service is completely secure, however, and an absolute guarantee against unauthorized access is not possible.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Data known to have come from a minor will be removed.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law, including the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act, CGS §§42-110a through 42-110q, may provide additional rights based on residence and circumstances. At a minimum, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
